  2. Request letter for recognition of high school studies (Certificate) in order to be accepted into university studies for European citizens2 filled in copies

  5. University Application Essay – maximum 400 words– describing his or her personal and professional motivation in the chosen field of study; the essay is mandatory and constitutes an important selection criteria. Editing the essay will be done on the computer using the Times New Roman font of 12, spaced 1.5 rows and will be mandatory dated and signed by the candidate
  6. English language proficiency certificate, a minimum B2 level issued by an accredited institution. Exempt from the certificate submission are citizens coming from countries where the official language is English.
  7. Study Diploma (authenticated with the Hague Apostille or by the Romanian’s diplomatic authorities from the candidate’s country of origin) – copy and 2 translations  into Romanian authenticated by a Notary Public – which allows the access of the candidate to university studies (diploma of high school or its equivalent). The candidates who have passed the Baccalaureate examination in the sessions corresponding to the academic year 2019-2020 may submit, instead of the Baccalaureate diploma, a certificate issued by the high school, mandatory specifying the grade point average of the Baccalaureate examination, the passed subjects, grades and the validity term of the certificate; They will also provide a statement given before a public notary with the term for presenting the high school diploma!
  8. Other documents relevant for the selection (e.g. volunteer certificate) – 2 translations  into Romanian authenticated by a Notary Public.
  9. Transcript of records for all the High school years – copy and 2 translations authenticated to a Notary Public.
  10. Birth certificate – copy and 2 translations  into Romanian authenticated by a Notary Public.
  11. Passport Copy – valid for at least 6 months after the date when the certificate of recognition of high school studies was issued by the Ministry of National Education of Romania + personal Identity Document (document attesting the residence abroad)
  12. Medical Certificate and Psychological evaluation (in an international language) that prove the person who will enroll to studies is clinically healthy (result of general physic examination) and certifies that the person enrolling in the studies does not suffer from contagious diseases or other conditions incompatible with the future profession
  13. 6 passport sized photos
  14. Datasheet verification signed by the candidate which includes all the checked points
  15. Only for the Romanian citizens residing in non-EU countriesor for the Romanian citizens that have also another citizenship – the file must contain a written statement authenticated to a Notary that they want to study at University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova as self supported fee-based students and that they acknowledge on their rights and obligations and that is their personal choice to study as foreign citizens on own expenses in the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova.

  • Entry Eligibility

    UMF Craiova

Can get into the national education system, those citizens from member states of European Union, from the European Economic Area and Swiss Confederation, as well as citizens from Non EU states, who:

Ø have documents that certify the citizenship of the state of origin and who require the enrollment to studies in Romania on own expenses;

Ø have study documents issued by educational institutions recognized in the country of origin;

Ø submitted the file by the deadline established by this Methodology.

  • English Language

    UMF Craiova

All the selected candidates must participate at the English language test, in late September. The test will be marked with Passed/Failed.

The English language test is mandatory for all candidates and will be marked as Passed/Failed. The test will take place between 25th / 27th of September 2019.

  • Tuition Fee

    UMF Craiova

The tuition fee for Medicine in English is 5.000 euros/year and may suffer changes during the study years with the approval of the  Senate of UMF Craiova.

  • Special Provisions

    UMF Craiova

The English language test is mandatory for all candidates and will be marked as Passed/Failed. The test will take place between 25th / 27th of September 2019.

For citizens that is mandatory to have a study visa in order to enter in Romania, they will pay the full amount of tuition fee for the academic year 2019/2020.

The application files will be sent to the University’s Registry Office only by postal services (2 Petru Rares street, Craiova municipality, Dolj county, Romania, postal code 200349). The files will not be submitted personally.

All the documents requested are mandatory!

Will not be permitted to receive files or completions to files after the deadline, 19th of July 2019!

The files from which are missing requested documents are automatically rejected!

All the eligible candidates, after completing the selection process must come to the University’s International Office with the original diploma/certificate of studies  (high school diploma or its equivalent), authenticated with the Hague Apostille or by the Romanian’s diplomatic authorities from the candidate’s country of origin –  for final registration.

University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova reserves the right, depending on the number of candidates, to organize a test of general knowledge of human anatomy and physiology.

  • Place Confirmation

    UMF Craiova

Confirmation of the place of the accepted candidates is made by paying the EUR 100 fee for the English language test, until 30th of August 2019. Candidates who will not confirm payment of the English language fee up to this date (30th August 2019) will be declared rejected and seats will be filled by candidates in the decreasing order of the scores of the competition files.

  • Provisional Enrollment

1st – 8th of October 2019 – eligible candidates must reserve their place by paying half of the annual tuition fee of the study program they chose for. Important! For citizens that is mandatory to have a study visa in order to enter in Romania, they will pay the full amount of tuition fee for the academic year 2019/2020.

Final enrollment will be done only after receiving the letter of acceptance/certificate of recognition of high school studies from the Ministry of National Education of Romania.

All the eligible candidates, after completing the selection process must go to the University’s Secretary with the original diploma/certificate of studies  (high school diploma or its equivalent), authenticated with the Hague Apostille or by the Romanian’s diplomatic authorities from the candidate’s country of origin –  for final registration.

  • EU Applicants

Important!  Hague Apostille is requested for diplomas from countries which are parties to the Hague Apostille, issued by the competent authorities in the issuing countries. Hague Apostille Convention is requested for diplomas from Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Cyprus.

Diplomas issued in countries which are not parties to the Hague Apostille shall be authenticated or accompanied by an authentication certificate from by the competent authorities in the issuing countries;

  • Legalization/Authentication is done by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the issuing country and the Embassy/Consular Office of Romania in the issuing country or by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the issuing country and the issuing country’s Embassy/Consular Office in Romania; for countries where Romania does not have a diplomatic mission or countries which do not have diplomatic missions in Romania, the study documents shall be legalized by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the issuing country
  •  Legalization/Authentication exemption is allowed under the law of an international treaty to which Romania is party or on a reciprocity basis.
